000 TTAA00 KTUS 280122 SVRTUS AZC019-280230- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TUCSON ARIZONA 621 PM MST TUE AUG 27 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TUCSON ARIZONA HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 730 PM MST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTH CENTRAL ARIZONA ...WESTERN PIMA COUNTY AT 618 PM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN FAR WESTERN PIMA COUNTY. THE FIRST STORM WAS JUST WEST OF AJO WITH ANOTHER STORM ABOUT 20 MILES SOUTH OF AJO OVER NORTHERN PORTIONS OF ORGAN PIPE NATIONAL MONUMENT. MOVEMENT WAS TO THE SOUTH AT ABOUT 10 MPH. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 57 MPH...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. PW VALUES OF 1.5 IN. ON SPECIAL 18Z SOUNDING AND DEW POINTS HOLDING IN THE MID 60S EARLY THIS AFTN. EXPECT WIDESPREAD ACTIVITY THIS AFTN AND EVE OVER CWA. OTHER ORGANIZED STORMS PROPAGATING SOUTH AND WEST OFF THE RIM MAY MOVE OVER EASTERN PART OF CWA LATE THIS AFTN THEN INTO WESTERN PART OF CWA TONIGHT. MODIFIED MEAN CAPE OF ABOUT 1700 J/KG... LI OF -7...AND DRY AIR IN UPPER LEVELS...SO SVR WX DEFINITELY A POSSIBILITY.
