000 TTAA00 KTUS 252108 SVRTUS AZC009-252215- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TUCSON ARIZONA 208 PM MST TUE JUN 25 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TUCSON ARIZONA HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 315 PM MST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN EAST ARIZONA ...CENTRAL AND EASTERN GRAHAM COUNTY AT 210 PM THE LIGHTNING DETECTION NETWORK AND SATELLITE IMAGERY INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPING ACROSS SECTIONS OF CENTRAL AND EASTERN GRAHAM COUNTY. A FUNNEL CLOUD WAS REPORTED NEAR SAN CARLOS AT 140 PM BUT DISSIPATED. THESE STORMS WILL EFFECT HIGHWAY 70 RUNNING THROUGH THE GILA RIVER VALLEY AND ALONG HIGHWAY 191 SOUTH OF SAFFORD. THE TOWNS OF SAFFORD...FORT THOMAS AND SAN CARLOS WILL BE AFFECTED BY THESE STORMS INDIVIDUALS IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 58 MPH...HEAVY RAIN AND FREQUENT DANGEROUS LIGHTNING(. SOUTHEAST ARIZONA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TUCSON AZ 900 AM MST TUE JUN 25 1996 MOISTURE ADVECTION IS THE LOWER LEVELS UNDERWAY AS SEEN IN TUS SOUNDING THIS MORNING. PW VALUES HAVE INCREASED .18 INCH SINCE MONDAY MORNING. ALSO SURFACE DEW POINTS UP 5-10 DEGREES FROM YESTERDAY MORNING. TUS SOUNDING AND VWP ALSO SHOW GOOD S-SE LOW LEVEL WIND FLOW SO MOISTURE ADVECTION WILL CONTINUE. WATER VAPOR PICTURES ALSO SHOW SOME MID LEVEL MOISTURE TO OUR SW OVR BAJA AND MEX WHICH WILL MOVE INTO SE AZ TODAY. 12Z NGM 12 HR MEAN RH CHART HAS GOOD HANDLE ON THIS MOISTURE WITH 50+ RH OVER SE SECTION AND .13 INCH QPF. HOWEVER NGM PUSHES THIS MOISTURE TO THE NM BORDER AREA WED AND THU WITH DRY AMS OVR REST OF SE AZ. THIS SEEMS UNREASONABLE WITH FLOW CONTINUING OUT OF THE SOUTH. SO CURRENT FORECAST TRENDS OF INCREASING THREAT OF SHOWERS/THUNDERSTORMS STILL LOOKS GOOD. NO UPDATES PLANNED. COLLINS
