000 TTAA00 KSLC 162124 SVRSLC UTC049-011-035-045-162245- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SALT LAKE CITY UT 320 PM MDT TUE JUL 16 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SALT LAKE CITY HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 445 PM MDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN CENTRAL UTAH ...UTAH COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL UTAH ...DAVIS COUNTY...SALT LAKE COUNTY IN NORTHWEST UTAH ...EASTERN TOOELE COUNTY A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM COMPLEX IN EASTERN TOOELE COUNTY IS CONTINUING TO MOVE EAST AT ABOUT 25 MPH. AT 315 PM THE STRONGEST STORM WAS ABOUT 10 MILES SOUTHWEST OF THE CITY OF TOOELE. THESE STORMS WILL START MOVING ACROSS THE OQUIRRH MOUNTAINS AND GREAT SALT LAKE INTO THE SALT LAKE TO PROVO METRO AREA BY 4 PM. STRONG GUSTY WINDS...HEAVY RAIN...AND LARGE HAIL MAY ACCOMPANY SOME OF THESE STORMS. SEVERAL REPORTS NEAR AND JUST EAST OF DUGWAY INDICATED 60 MPH WINDS AS THIS COMPLEX MOVED PAST. THIS MAY ALSO CAUSE URBAN FLOODING OF STREETS AND INTERSECTIONS DURING THE EVENING COMMUTE. FOR YOUR PROTECTION MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS AS THUNDERSTORMS APPROACH.
