THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1115 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION......
 
IN WEST CENTRAL WEST VIRGINIA
 
   ...PUTNAM COUNTY
 
AT 910 PM...SOME SMALLER STREAMS WERE OVERFLOWING THEIR BANKS IN PUTNAM
COUNTY DUE TO THE TORRENTIAL RAINS FROM THE STORMS EARLIER THIS EVENING.
ONE SMALL BRIDGE HAD TWO FEET OF WATER FLOWING OVER IT IN THE COW CREEK
AREA OF HURRICANE. RUNOFF FROM THE EARLIER STORMS WILL RESULT IN HIGH
WATER LEVELS IN PUTNAM COUNTY FOR SEVERAL HOURS.
 
ANOTHER DOWNPOUR WILL CROSS THE AREA BY 1000 PM...BUT THE PRECIPITATION
IS EXPECTED TO BE LIGHT AFTER 1000 PM.
 
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND. WATCH OUT FOR MUD SLIDES.
