000 TTAA00 KCRW 082331 FFWCRW OHC087-WVC011-090130- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHARLESTON WV 730 PM EDT SAT JUN 8 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 930 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...S... IN SOUTHEAST OHIO ...LAWRENCE COUNTY IN WEST WEST VIRGINIA ...CABELL COUNTY TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS FROM THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS THAT ROLLED THROUGH THE REGION HAVE CAUSED SOME FLASH FLOODING IN CABELL COUNTY. A FEW ROADWAYS HAVE BEEN BLOCKED IN HUNTINGTON BY SMALLER STREAMS OVERFLOWING THEIR BANKS. RUNOFF FROM THE HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE...RESULTING IN ADDITIONAL SMALL STREAM FLOODING. THE FLOODING IS EXPECTED TO OCCUR MAINLY IN URBAN AREAS. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND. WATCH OUT FOR MUD SLIDES.
