THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  800 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION......
 
IN SOUTHEAST OHIO
 
   ...NORTHERN PERRY COUNTY
 
THE COUNTY SHERIFF HAS REPORTED THE EVACUATION OF A FEW FAMILIES NEAR
THE TOWN OF GLENFORD. HEAVY RAINS FROM WEDNESDAY EVENING...AND MORE
SHOWERS DURING THE PRE-DAWN HOURS HAVE CAUSED JONATHONS CREEK TO
OVERFLOW ITS BANKS. THERE ARE ALSO STATE AND COUNTY ROADS REPORTED UNDER
WATER.
 
THE SHOWERS SHOULD EXIT NORTHERN PERRY COUNTY BY DAWN.  UNTIL THEN...THE
ADDITIONAL RAIN WILL ONLY AGGRAVATE THE FLOODING PROBLEM ALONG JONATHONS
CREEK AND OTHER SMALL STREAMS IN NORTHERN PERRY COUNTY.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
