FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION......
 
IN SOUTHEAST OHIO
 
   ...MEIGS COUNTY
 
RADAR ESTIMATES NEARLY TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER NORTHERN MEIGS
COUNTY. PREVIOUSLY TODAY...A THUNDERSTORM PRODUCED AN INCH TO AN INCH
AND A HALF IN THE SAME AREA. THIS RAIN IS ENOUGH FOR FLASH FLOODING. THE
MAIN AREA OF CONCERN IS NEAR THE SNOWVILLE TO BURLINGHAM AREA. ANOTHER
AREA OF CONCERN IS NORTHWEST OF CARPENTER.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGH~T WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

...HEAVY RAINS IN SOUTHEAST GALLIA COUNTY OHIO WILL CAUSE SOME
CREEKS TO RUN HIGH...

SEVERAL THUNDERSTORMS HAVE MOVED THROUGH SOUTHEAST GALLIA COUNTY
OHIO TODAY.  RAINFALL AMOUNTS TOTALING 2 TO 2 1/2 INCHES HAVE
FALLEN.  THIS WILL PUSH SOME CREEKS TO NEAR BANKFULL LEVELS FOR A
FEW HOURS THIS AFTERNOON.  LOW SPOTS WHERE ROADS DIP NEAR CREEKS AND
STREAMS MAY BRIEFLY BE COVERED WITH WATER.  IN ADDITION SOME PONDING
OF WATER ON ROADS DUE TO POOR DRAINAGE MAY OCCUR.  PERSONS
ENCOUNTERING ANY PLACES WHERE WATER IS OVER A ROADWAY SHOULD NOT
ATTEMPT TO DRIVE THROUGH THE WATER.

THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCED HEAVY RAINFALL OVER NORTHWESTERN
MEIGS...SOUTHEASTERN VINTON...AND SOUTHERN ATHENS COUNTIES THIS
EVENING. THIS RAINFALL OF NEAR 2 INCHES IN AN HOUR WILL CAUSE STREAMS
AND CREEKS TO RAPDIDLY RISE TO BANKFULL. MINOR WATER PROBLEMS CAN BE
EXPECTED IN THE NORMAL LOW LYING AREAS. MOTORISTS SHOULD BE
ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS.
