AT 754 AM WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS
PRODUCING VERY STRONG WINDS MOVING INTO GRANVILLE AND WAKE COUNTIES.
THESE STORMS WERE PART OF A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS MOVING TO THE EAST
NEAR 35 MPH... WHILE THE INDIVIDUAL STORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST NEAR 50
MPH. TREES HAVE BEEN REPORTED DOWN WITH THIS LINE OF STORMS.
 
DOWNBURST WINDS FROM A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAN SOMETIMES REACH 100
MPH.  A POWERFUL DOWNBURST CAN BE AS BAD AS A TORNADO.  THESE WINDS
DOWN TREES AND POWER LINES...OVERTURN MOBILE HOMES...AND DAMAGE
