000 TTAA00 KRDU 062300 SVRRDU NCC163-062345- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RALEIGH/DURHAM NC 701 PM EDT MON MAY 6 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RALEIGH/DURHAM HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 745 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTHEAST NORTH CAROLINA ...NORTHERN SAMPSON COUNTY AT 700 PM...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS DETECTED BY DOPPLER RADAR 8 MILES NORTHWEST OF CLINTON. THE STORM WAS MOVING EAST AT ABOUT 20 MPH. PERSONS IN NORTHERN SAMPSON COUNTY SHOULD MOVE TO SAFETY IMMEDIATELY. PEOPLE SHOULD BE ESPECIALLY ALERT FOR LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WIND.
