THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RALEIGH/DURHAM HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND FLASH FLOOD WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL  530 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTHEAST NORTH CAROLINA
 
   ...SOUTHERN SAMPSON COUNTY
 
AT 423 PM WEATHER RADAR SHOWED ANOTHER SEVERE THUNDERSTORM MOVING INTO
SOUTHERN SAMPSON COUNTY. THIS STORM WAS MOVING SOUTHEAST AROUND 20 MPH
AND WILL PASS THROUGH THE COMMUNITIES OF GARLAND AND HARRELLS. THESE
AREAS HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED 2 TO 3 INCHES OF RAINFALL FROM A STORM A
LITTLE OVER AN HOUR AGO...SO FLASH FLOOD POTENTIAL IS HIGH.
 
 
THIS SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORM MAY CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL STREAMS
AND URBAN DRAINAGES IN ADDITION TO WIND AND HAIL.  MOTORISTS MAY
ENCOUNTER PONDING OF WATER ON HIGHWAYS AND FLOODED UNDERPASSES.
AVOID DRIVING ACROSS WATER-COVERED ROADS. WATER TWO FEET DEEP CAN
LIFT MOST CARS.  REPORT FLOODING OR DAMAGE TO EMERGENCY OFFICIALS.
