THIS STORM WILL PRODUCE TORRENTIAL RAINFALL...HAIL TO 3/4 INCH IN
DIAMETER AND WIND GUSTS TO NEAR 60 MPH. A SPOTTER 2 MILES SOUTH OF
ELBERT REPORTED ABOUT 3 INCHES OF RAIN BETWEEN 2 AND 3 PM MDT IN
ADDITION TO PEA SIZED HAIL...CONTINUOUS LIGHTNING AND VISIBILITIES TO

RADAR AND SATELLITE IMAGES EARLY THIS AFTERNOON SHOW A BROAD AREA OF THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE NORTH CENTRAL COLORADO MOUNTAINS MOVING TOWARD THE PIKES PEAK REGION. THESE STORMS ARE DEVELOPING IN ADVANCE OF AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE CLIPPING NORTHWEST COLORADO. AS THE AFTERNOON PROGRESSES...THESE STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO SPREAD INTO THE PIKES PEAK REGION AND THEN CONTINUE SOUTH AND EASTWARD. THE WATER CONTENT OF THE ATMOSPHERE OVER COLORADO IS BETTER THAN 150 PERCENT OF NORMAL IN SOME CASES. CONSEQUENTLY...THE MAIN THREAT FROM STORMS TODAY IS AGAIN HEAVY RAIN.
