...VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS IN SOUTHERN OTERO AND EASTERN LAS ANIMAS
COUNTIES...

THUNDERSTORMS...SOME STRONG...WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT OTERO AND EASTERN
LAS ANIMAS COUNTIES THROUGH 1 PM.  THE STRONGEST STORMS WILL PRODUCE
VERY HEAVY RAIN...SMALL HAIL UP TO 3/4 INCHES IN DIAMETER AND WIND
GUSTS OF 50 TO 55 MPH.

AT 1143 AM...DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED THE STRONGEST STORM ABOUT 20 MILES
NORTH OF KIM.  THE STORM WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH.  THE STORMS
WILL BE IN THE LA JUNTA VICINITY BY NOON.

SYNOPSIS:  A STRONG UPPER LEVEL LOW WILL MOVE INTO EASTERN COLORADO BY
LATE AFTERNOON THEN INTO WESTERN KANSAS BY MIDNIGHT.

ACROSS SOUTHEAST COLORADO...SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS THUNDERSTORMS ARE
EXPECTED DURING THE FIRST HALF OF THE AFTERNOON...THEN THE STORMS WILL
DECREASE IN COVERAGE DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS.

IN THE MOUNTAINS...SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL OCCUR THIS
AFTERNOON.  THE SNOW LEVEL WILL BE AROUND 7500 FEET.  ABOVE THIS LEVEL
...LOCAL ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 4 INCHES WILL OCCUR...
PRIMARILY IN TELLER COUNTY.

SOME OF THE THUNDERSTORMS IN SOUTHEAST COLORADO...GENERALLY ALONG AND
EAST OF INTERSTATE 25...WILL BE STRONG THIS AFTERNOON.  THE MAIN
THREATS WILL BE SMALL HAIL UNDER THREE-QUARTERS OF AN INCH...WIND
GUSTS UP TO 55 MPH AND VERY HEAVY RAIN THAT MAY PRODUCE LOCALIZED
FLOODING OF LOW LYING AREAS.  THE STRONGEST STORMS WILL OCCUR EAST OF
A LINE FROM LIMON TO TRINIDAD.

ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN SOUTHEAST COLORADO MAY BECOME SEVERE THIS
AFTERNOON...PRODUCING HAIL OVER 3/4 INCHES IN DIAMETER.

STRONG NORTH WINDS OF 25 TO 45 MPH ARE EXPECTED TONIGHT IN MOST AREAS
AS THE STORM SYSTEM STRENGTHENS IN KANSAS.
