THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PHOENIX AZ HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1130 AM MST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING
LOCATIONS...

IN EAST-CENTRAL ARIZONA

  ...SOUTHERN GILA COUNTY
     INCLUDING CUTTER AND STATE ROUTES 70 AND 77 SOUTH AND EAST OF
GLOBE...

AT 935 AM PHOENIX DOPPLER RADAR DETECTED A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS WITH
HEAVY RAIN DEVELOPING FROM 15 MILES NORTHWEST OF HAYDEN TO 10 MILES
EAST OF GLOBE.  INDIVIDUAL STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE NORTH-NORTHEAST
AT 20 MPH...BUT THE LINE WAS NOT SHOWING MUCH MOVEMENT.  DOPPLER
RADAR INDICATES THAT STORMS JUST SOUTH AND EAST OF GLOBE HAVE
PRODUCED IN EXCESS OF ONE INCH OF RAIN IN LESS THAN ONE HOUR.  THE
AREA AFFECTED BY THESE STORMS HAS ALREADY RECEIVED HEAVY RAINFALL
FROM STORMS FRIDAY NIGHT...SO RAPID RUNOFF FROM ADDITIONAL RAINFALL
IS LIKELY.  

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  DO NOT TRY TO CROSS FLOODED HIGHWAYS. MOST FLASH FLOOD
DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT CAMP OR PARK YOUR VEHICLE NEAR
STREAMS OR OTHER AREAS SUBJECT TO FLASH FLOODING.
