000 TTAA00 KOMA 170014 RRA TOROMA NEC023-170100- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED TORNADO WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OMAHA/VALLEY NE 712 PM CDT TUE JUL 16 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN OMAHA/VALLEY HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 800 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN EAST CENTRAL NEBRASKA ...NORTHERN BUTLER COUNTY AT 711 PM CDT DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A POSSIBLE TORNADO 5 MILES SOUTHWEST OF COLUMBUS. THIS STORM WAS MOVING EASTSOUTHEAST AT 20 MPH. BELLWOOD AND DAVID CITY ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS DANGEROUS STORM. THIS STORM UPROOTED TREES AND PRODUCED BASEBALL SIZED HAIL IN THE MONROE AREA. PERSONS IN THE WARNED AREA SHOULD TAKE SHELTER IN A BASEMENT IF AVAILABLE. OTHERWISE GO TO A SMALL INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR. CARS AND MOBILE HOMES SHOULD BE ABANDONED.
