000 TTAA00 KMOB 300827 RRA SVRMOB ALC023-300900- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MOBILE AL 227 AM CST SAT MAR 30 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOBILE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 300 AM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTHWEST ALABAMA ...CHOCTAW COUNTY AT 225 AM MOBILE DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM JUST NORTHEAST OF MELVIN. THIS STORM WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 35 MPH AND WILL PASS NEAR BUTLER BY 245 AM. THE PRIMARY THREAT FROM THIS STORM IS LARGE HAIL. WHEN THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRING...PEOPLE SHOULD MOVE INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING. DO NOT STAND BY WINDOWS. DON'T USE TELEPHpONES OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES UNLESS IN AN EMERGENCY UNTIL THE STORM HAS PASSED. MOTORISTS SHOULD NOT DRIVE INTO LOW WATER CROSSINGS.
