000 TTAA00 KMIA 071520 SVRMIA FLC011-071615- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIAMI FL 1118 AM EDT MON OCT 7 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MIAMI HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1215 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...... IN SOUTHEAST FLORIDA ...EASTERN BROWARD COUNTY AND THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS AT 1115 AM DOPPLER RADAR IN MIAMI INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM MOVING RAPIDLY ACROSS EASTERN BROWARD COUNTY. ESTIMATES FROM RADAR INDICATE WINDS TO NEAR 60 MPH WITH THIS STORM. A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN PRODUCE TORNADOES. RESIDENTS IN ALL OF EASTERN BROWARD COUNTY SHOULD TAKE COVER IMMEDIATELY. DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN... AND DEADLY LIGHTNING ARE ALL POSSIBLE IN A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM. SEEK SHELTER IN A STRONG BUILDING. STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS. DO NOT USE TELEPHONES OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES.
