THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MIAMI HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  700 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION......

IN SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

   ...NORTHWESTERN COLLIER COUNTY


TNE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR HAS DETECTED A SEVERE
THUNDERSTORM IN NORTHWEST COLLIER COUNTY BETWEEN BIG CORKSCREW
ISLAND AND IMMOKALEE.

DOPPLER ESTIMATES INDICATE THAT BETWEEN 0.75 AND 1.25 INCHES OF
RAIN HAVE FALLEN IN THIS AREA WITHIN THE LAST HOUR AND MORE IS
EXPECTED ALONG WITH FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND HAIL.  DIME SIZED
HAIL WAS REPORTED EARLIER IN FORT MYERS WITH THIS STROM SYSTEM.

THE STORM CURRENTLY IS BUILDING ALONG THE SEA BREEZE FRONT AND
IS NOT MOVING VERY MUCH AT THE MOMENT.


DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN...
AND DEADLY LIGHTNING ARE ALL POSSIBLE IN A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM. SEEK
SHELTER IN A STRONG BUILDING. STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS. DO NOT USE
TELEPHONES OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES.
