000 TTAA00 KMEM 272354 TORMEM MSC057-280030- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED TORNADO WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MEMPHIS TN 653 PM CDT MON MAY 27 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MEMPHIS HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 730 PM CDT FOR PERSONS IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN NORTHEAST MISSISSIPPI ...ITAWAMBA COUNTY AT 650 PM..NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A POSSIBLE TORNADO MOVING INTO SOUTHWEST ITAWAMBA COUNTY. THIS STORM IS MOVING EAST AND WILL AFFECT AREAS AROUND EVERGREEN AND FULTON BY 700 PM...AND TRMEONT AND NEW SALEM BY 720 PM. IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF A TORNADO...THE SAFEST PLACE IS A BASEMENT. GET UNDER A WORKBENCH OR PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE. IF NO BASEMENT IS AVAILABLE...SEEK SHELTER IN AN INTERIOR ROOM SUCH AS A CLOSET ON THE LOWEST FLOOR. USE BLANKETS...PILLOWS...
