...TORNADO WATCH IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF WEST CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST
ARKANSAS UNTIL 1000 PM CST...

A TORNADO WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR PARTS OF WEST CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST
ARKANSAS AND WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL 1000 PM CST.

STRONG SOUTH AND SOUTHWEST WINDS CONTINUE TO TRANSPORT WARM AND UNSTABLE
AIR INTO ARKANSAS. MEANWHILE...A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM ALOFT WAS
APPROACHING THE STATE FROM THE WEST LATE THIS AFTERNOON. THE COMBINATION
OF THESE WEATHER FEATURES HAS SET THE STAGE FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF
SEVERE WEATHER OVER PORTIONS OF WEST CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS
TONIGHT.

LATE THIS AFTERNOON...THUNDERSTORMS WERE DEVELOPING RAPIDLY OVER PARTS
OF SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND NORTHEAST TEXAS. THE STORMS WERE MOVING
RAPIDLY NORTHEASTWARD AND WERE BEGINNING TO ENTER PARTS OF SOUTHWEST
ARKNASAS.

DUE TO THE RAPID MOVEMENT OF THE THUNDERSTORMS...STRONG AND DAMAGING
WINDS ARE A POSSIBILITY. THERE IS ALSO THE CHANCE THAT A FEW OF THE
STORMS MAY PRODUCE A TORNADO IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA.

PERSONS ACROSS WESTERN AND SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS ARE ADVISED TO KEEP
ABREAST OF THE LATEST WEATHER INFORMATION. STAY TUNED TO LOCAL
TELEVISION OR RADIO STATIONS FOR THE LATEST STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE
