FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  915 AM EST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN WEST MARYLAND

IN NORTHEAST WEST VIRGINIA

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATES MODERATE TO HEAVY
RAINFALL MOVING INTO THESE LOCATIONS. THESE AREAS HAVE BEEN RECEIVING
RAIN DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS...AND WARM TEMPERATURES HAVE CAUSED THE
SNOWPACK TO MELT. AS A RESULT...STREAMS AND CREEKS ARE RUNNING VERY HIGH
AND BEGINNING TO GO OUT OF THEIR BANKS. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OVER THE
NEXT SEVERAL HOURS WILL CAUSE THE FLASH FLOODING TO WORSEN. PERSONS IN
THESE LOCATIONS SHOULD MONITOR CREEKS AND STREAMS CLOSELY...AND MOVE
QUICKLY TO HIGHER GROUND IF FLOODING DEVELOPS.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
