000 TTAA00 KLBB 142048 FFWLBB TXC279-142250- BULLETIN...EBS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LUBBOCK TX 347 PM CDT FRI JUN 14 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LUBBOCK TX HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 550 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN NORTHWEST TEXAS ...NORTHWESTERN LAMB COUNTY RADAR INDICATES THAT VERY HEAVY RAINS HAVE OCCURRED DURING THE PAST HOUR. SUDAN POLICE DEPARTMENT SAID THAT WATER WAS COVERING FARM TO MARKET ROAD 1055. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT. TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.

THE THUNDERSTORMS ARE NOT EXPECTED TO BECOME SEVERE SINCE THERE ARE NO SIGNIFICANT BOUNDARIES FOR THE THUNDERSTORMS TO DEVELOP ALONG. THE MAIN THREAT WILL BE HEAVY RAINFALL WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR LOCALIZED FLOODING. SPOTTER ACTIVATION IS NOT EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON OR EVENING.
