FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  800 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...

AT 426 AM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR WAS DETECTING SEVERAL
CLUSTERS OF THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM JUST NORTH OF ST LOUIS EAST TO
NEAR EFFINGHAM. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE MOVING EAST OVER
PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST ILLINOIS...REPEATEDLY DUMPING HEAVY RAINS OVER THE
SAME AREAS THROUGH THE EARLY MORNING HOURS.
 
RADAR WAS ESTIMATING 3 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER SOUTHERN
MONTGOMERY COUNTY AND NORTHERN BOND COUNTY SINCE 100 AM.  AN ADDITIONAL
1 TO 3 INCHES OF RAINFALL IS POSSIBLE OVER THE NEXT THREE HOURS.
 
IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED OR IMMINENT...MOVE QUICKLY TO
HIGHER GROUND. NEVER DRIVE INTO AN AREA WHERE WATER COVERS THE
ROAD...ESPECIALLY LOW-WATER BRIDGES. IF YOU LIVE NEAR A SMALL STREAM OR
OTHER LOW LYING FLOOD-PRONE AREAF...BE PREPARED TO MOVE TO HIGHER
