THUNDERSTORMS HAVE MOVED OVER EDMONSON COUNTY...DUMPING BETWEEN ONE AND
ONE HALF /1.5/ AND TWO INCHES /2.00/ OF RAINFALL OVER THE LAST HOUR OR
SO...ESPECIALLY EAST OF BROWNSVILLE IN THE MAMMOTH CAVE NATIONAL
PARK AREA. ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE TO REDEVELOP OVER THE
AREA...AND THUS AN ADDITIONAL INCH OR MORE OF RAINFALL IS POSSIBLE OVER
THE NEXT HOUR OR SO.
 
LOCAL LAW ENFOREMENT FROM EDMONSON COUNTY INDICATED THAT MINOR STREET
FLOODING WAS ALREADY OCCURING IN BROWNSVILLE. WITH THE HILLY TERRAIN
OVER THE COUNTY...ESPECIALLY IN THE MAMMOTH CAVE AREA...FLASH FLOODING
IS POSSIBLE...AND SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS AND LOW LYING AREAS WILL FILL
WITH WATER QUICKLY.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATEfR DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
