IN SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA LAFAYETTE PARISH AT 1015 PM CDT...NEXRAD DOPPLER INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM NEAR SCOTT MOVING EAST AT 25 MPH. THE PRIMARY THREAT FROM THIS STORM IS WINDS GUSTING IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN.
