THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 935 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY...

IN SOUTHEAST KENTUCKY

   ...NORTHERN PIKE
 
AT 6:30 PM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED AN AREA OF
HEAVIER SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ENTERING NORTHERN PIKE COUNTY.
RADAR ESTIMATES AND SURFACE REPORTS INDICATE THAT OVER AN INCH OF RAIN
HAS ALREADY FALLEN TODAY.

PUBLIC REPORTS INDICATE THAT JOHNS CREEK NEAR GULNARE IS OUT OF ITS
BANKS AND CONTINUES TO RISE. ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAIN WILL RESULT IN FLASH
FLOODING IN NORTHERN PIKE COUNTY...PARTICULARLY ALONG ROUTE 194.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONEDj
QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
