THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 435 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY...

IN SOUTHEAST KENTUCKY

   ...HARLAN
 
A WEATHER SPOTTER 8 MILES EAST OF HARLAN...JUST OUTSIDE
EVARTS...REPORTED 2 INCHES OF RAIN BETWEEN NOON AND 130 PM EDT.

AT 135 PM EDT WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY
RAIN CONTINUING ACROSS THE EASTERN PART OF HARLAN COUNTY. THE
THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 15 MPH...AND WILL CONTINUE TO
AFFECT AREAS FROM LOUELLEN TO BENHAM AND LYNCH THROUGH 3 PM.

ONE TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN CAN BE EXPECTED IN EASTERN HARLAN
COUNTY BETWEEN 145 AND 3 PM EDT. THIS WILL RESULT IN RAPID RISES ON
CREEKS AND STREAMS.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GRE$AT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED
QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
