000 TTAA00 KJAN 261317 TORJAN MSC121-261400- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED TORNADO WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE JACKSON MS 718 AM CST FRI JAN 26 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 800 AM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI ...RANKIN COUNTY AT 717 AM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A DEVELOPING TORNADO NEAR THE RANKIN...HINDS COUNTY LINE. THE STORM WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 40 MPH...AND THE CITIES OF PEARL AND BRANDON ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM. ROOF DAMAGE WAS REPORTED IN JACKSON AROUND 715 AM...AND SEVERAL REPORTS OF FUNNEL CLOUDS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED. THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. MOVE QUICKLY TO UNDERGROUND SHELTER IF AVAILABLE.
