INCREASING SOUTHERLY WINDS WERE SETTING THE STAGE FOR STRONG THUNDER-
STORM DEVELOPMENT EARLY TODAY.  A DESTABLIZING ATMOSPHERE AND A RAPIDLY
APPROACHING UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL COMBINE WITH STRONG LOW LEVEL
WIND FIELDS TO CREATE FAVORABLE CONDITIONS FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS.

A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS IN WESTERN LOUISIANA WILL PROGRESS EASTWARD
TO NEAR THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER BETWEEN 900 AM AND NOON. THESE STORMS
HAVE ALREADY REQUIRED SEVERE WEATHER WATCHES TO BE POSTED WEST OF THE
MAGNOLIA STATE. LOCALIZED FLOOD-PRODUCING RAINS ARE POSSIBLE MAINLY FOR
NORTHERN COUNTIES. HOWEVER...DAMAGING WINDS INCLUDING ISOLATED TORNADOES
ARE THE MOST LIKELY THREAT OF SEVERE WEATHER AS THE SYSTEM CROSSES INTO
EAST MISSISSIPPI THIS AFTERNOON. RESIDENTS SHOULD LISTEN FOR LATER
