THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WICHITA HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1145 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS
 
   ...CHASE COUNTY
 
AT 540 CDT...NEARLY STATIONARY THUNDERSTORMS OVER NORTHERN AND EASTERN
CHASE COUNTY WERE PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINS. RADAR RAINFALL ESTIMATES
OVER TWO INCHES HAVE BEEN INDICATED DURING THE PAST HOUR. HEAVY RAINS
WILL LIKELY CONTINUE WITH THESE STORMS THROUGH THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS.
 
CHASE COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE HAS REPORTED MINOR STREET FLOODING.  THE
HEAVY RAINS WILL ONLY AGGRAVATE THIS PROBLEM.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES... DIPS... OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEV~ER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM... EVEN A SMALL
