000 TTAA00 KSAT 290404 SVRSAT TXC479-290500- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO TX 1102 PM CDT TUE MAY 28 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS ...WESTERN WEBB COUNTY AT 1105 PM CDT DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WITH DAMAGING WINDS LOCATED OVER NORTHWEST WEBB COUNTY. MOVEMENT WAS TO THE SOUTHEAST AT 20 MILES AN HOUR. SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WINDS CAN REACH SPEEDS OVER 60 MPH. THESE WINDS BLOW DOWN TREES...POWER LINES...AND SEVERELY DAMAGE MOBILE HOMES..n. SOMETIMES BUILDINGS. VERY LARGE HAIL CAN INJURE ANYONE CAUGHT OUTSIDE.
