FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1215 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS

A LAREA AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN WAS INDICATED
OVER DE WITT COUNTY WITH ADDITIONAL SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO THE
SOUTH OF DE WITT COUNTY MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH. THE COMBINATION OF
HEAVY RAINFALL OVER THE PAST 24 HOURS ALONG WITH THE INCOMING RAIN WILL
CAUSE FLASH FLOODING...ESPECIALLY IN STREAMS AND CREEKS. MOTORISTS ARE
URGE TO USE EXTREME CAUTION...AND PARENTS SHOULD KEEP CHILDREN AWAY FROM
FLOOD PRONE AREAS.
 
AVOID ALREADY FLOODED AREAS.  TRAVELERS SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS FLOODED ROADS.  IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS...LEAVE IT AND MOVE
IMMEDIATELY TO HIGHER GROUND IF YOU CAN DO SO SAFELY.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE RELATIVE TO STREAMS...RIVERS...OR
CREEKS WHICH CAN BECOME KILLERS IN HEAVY RAINS.  CAMPERS AND OTHER
PEOPLE IN RECRvEATION AREAS ALONG CREEKS...STREAMS...AND RIVERS IN
THE WARNING AREA SHOULD MOVE TO HIGH GROUND IMMEDIATELY.
