* CAUSE AND EFFECT
DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATES INDICATED THAT 3 TO 5 INCHES OF RAIN
FELL THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY THIS EVENING. THESE RAINS HAVE
CAUSED THE RIVER AT FAIRFAX TO RISE ABOVE FLOOD STAGE. THEY
WILL ALSO
CAUSE THE TARKIO RIVER TO RISE OUT OF ITS BANKS FROM SOUTHERN
ATCHISON COUNTY MISSOURI INTO HOLT COUNTY.
* FORECAST CONDITIONS
THE TARKIO RIVER WILL REMAIN OUT OF ITS BANKS THROUGH EARLY
TUESDAY MORNING. PERSONS ALONG THE RIVER WILL WANT TO WATCH FOR
RISING WATER AND TAKE THE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT
LIFE AND PROPERTY.
