000 TTAA00 KCLE 122246 SVRCLE OHC055-085-153-122330- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CLEVELAND OH 644 PM EDT FRI APR 12 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CLEVELAND HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 730 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN OHIO ...GEAUGA COUNTY...LAKE COUNTY...SUMMIT COUNTY AND THE ADJACENT WATERS OF LAKE ERIE A LINE OF STRONG AND DAMAGING WINDS EXTENDED FROM EASTERN CUYAHOGA COUNTY THROUGH CENTRAL MEDINA COUNTY AND IS MOVING TO THE SOUTHEAST AT 45 MPH. MANY REPORTS OF WIND DAMAGE HAVE BEEN RECEIVED INCLUDING WIND GUSTS UP TO 84 MPH IN ELYRIA AND 82 MPH IN GARFIELD HEIGHTS. THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. LOW PRESSURE OVER NORTHWEST ILLINOIS WAS DRAWING VERY WARM AND MOIST AIR NORTH THROUGH THE LOWER OHIO VALLEY AND INTO THE LOWER GREAT LAKES. THIS WAS AIDING IN THE DEVELOPEMENT OF THUNDERSTORMS OVER PARTS OF ILLINOIS...NORTHERN INDIANA AND MICHIGAN. AT 330 PM A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS WAS MOVING EAST ACROSS THE EXTREME NORTHERN COUNTIES OF NORTHWEST OHIO. SOME OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS COULD PRODUCE STRONG AND DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL. THE STORM(S COULD DEVELOP FARTHER TO THE SOUTH AND WILL BE MONITORED CLOSELY THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF THE AFTERNOON.
