THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CLEVELAND HAS CONTINUED THE
FLOOD WARNING FOR URBAN AREAS AND SMALL STREAM
EFFECTIVE UNTIL  600 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN  PENNSYLVANIA
 
   ...ERIE COUNTY
 
AT 11 PM DOPPLER RADAR WAS SHOWING SCATTERED SHOWERS OVER NORTHWEST
PENNSYLVANIA. THE THREAT OF FLOOD PRODUCING RAINS HAVE ENDED.
HOWEVER...CONSIDERABLE FLOODING CONTINUES IN THE MILL CREEK TOWNSHIP
AREA AND IN SOME OTHER SPOTS IN ERIE COUNTY.
 
SINCE THE HEAVY RAINS HAVE ENDED THE WATER WILL SLOWLY RECEDE FROM
FLOODED ROADS AND OVERFLOWING STREAMS. MANY BASEMENTS AND BUILDINGS WERE
ALSO FLOODED. IN THE MEANTIME PEOPLE NEED TO AVOID FLOODED AREAS AS THEY
CAN BE DANGEROUS.
 
RAINFALL AMOUNTS AROUND 7 INCHES WERE RECEIVED FROM THE MILLCREEK AREA
WITH 7.2 INCHES IN MCKEAN TOWNSHIP AND 6.7 INCHES IN MILLCREEK AND 5.5
INCHES IN THE CENTRAL EAST SIDE OF THE CITY OF ERIE.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED Q`UICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
