000 TTAA00 KBOS 272143 SVRBOS MAC015-272245- BULLETIN - EBS ACTIVATION REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAUNTON MA 540 PM EDT TUE AUG 27 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 645 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS ...HAMPSHIRE COUNTY AT 538 PM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED THAT THE THUNDERSTORM OVER THE WILLIAMSBURG AND NORTHAMPTON AREAS HAS REMAINED NEARLY STATIONARY. NUMEROUS REPORTS OF DIME TO NICKEL SIZED HAIL HAVE BEEN REPORTED FROM NORTHAMPTON AND THE LEEDS SECTION OF WILLIAMSBURG. THE STORM IS GROWING SOUTHWARD AND WILL LIKELY EFFECT SOUTHAMPTON AND EASTHAMPTON. VERY HEAVY RAINFALL IS FALLING WITH THIS STORM AS WELL. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THIS AREA. THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH YOU SHOULD PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...LARGE HAIL...ANND DEADLY LIGHTNING. PEOPLE OUTSIDE SHOULD MOVE TO A SHELTER...
