THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS ISSUED A
FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  425 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN NORTHERN AND CENTRAL RHODE ISLAND
 
   ...PROVIDENCE AND KENT COUNTIES
 
FLOODING WAS OCCURRING ALONG THE PAWTUXET RIVER IN CRANSTON AND WARWICK
AT 420 PM. FLOODING WAS REPORTED IN A WOODED AREA NEAR THE INTERSECTION
OF I-95 AND ROUTE 37. ALSO...FLOODING WAS REPORTED IN A SUPERMARKET
PARKING LOT ON WARWICK AVENUE. SOME SANDBAGGING OPERATIONS WERE
REPORTEDLY UNDERWAY.
 
THE FLOODING WAS OCCURRING FROM THE HEAVY RAINFALL WHICH OCCURRED
YESTERDAY.  THE WATERS SHOULD BEGIN TO SLOWLY RECEDE LATE TONIGHT.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS. IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY. MOVE UP
TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN
WATER BEGINS RISING.
