THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS ISSUED A
FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1230 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN  MASSACHUSETTS
 
   ...NORFOLK COUNTY
 
AT 220 PM...WEATHER RADAR INDICATED ANOTHER LARGE AREA OF HEAVY RAIN
MOVING THROUGH RHODE ISLAND...HEADED FOR NORFOLK COUNTY.  PORTIONS
OF NORFOLK COUNTY HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED 4 INCHES OF RAIN.  ANOTHER
1 TO 2 INCHES IS EXPECTED THROUGH THIS EVENING.
 
FLOOD GUIDANCE INDICATES THAT 4.5 TO 5 INCHES OF RAIN WILL BEGIN TO
CAUSE FLOODING OF SOME SMALL STREAMS. SPOTTER REPORTS INDICATED THAT
SEVERAL SMALL STREAMS FEEDING INTO THE CHARLES RIVER WERE AT BANKFULL.
THE EXPECTED ADDITIONAL RAINFALL IS EXPECTED TO LEAD TO FLOODING OF
SOME SMALL STREAMS LATER THIS AFTERNOON OR TONIGHT.
 
A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
