FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1015 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN WEST CENTRAL ALABAMA
 
   ...LAMAR COUNTY
 
AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS HAVE DUMPED MORE THAN 3 INCHES OF RAIN OVER
NORTHERN AREAS OF LAMAR COUNTY. THE STORMS ARE PRIMARILY TRACKING ACROSS
THE NORTHERN LAMAR COUNTY FROM THE SULLIGENT AREA NORTH.
 
WITH GROUND ALREADY SATURATED FROM RAINS OVER THE WEEKEND...MOST OF THIS
EVENING'S RAINFALL IS PRODUCING RUNOFF.  FLOODING OF LOW LYING AREAS ARE
LIKELY AS WELL AS FLOODING OF MILL CREEK AND THE BUTTAHATCHEE RIVER.
MOTORIST SHOULD NOT DRIVE THROUGH WATER ON ROADS...RESIDENTS IN LOW LYINAREAS NEED TO MONITOR THE POTENTIAL FOR RAPIDLY RISING WATERS.
 
AS THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE TO DEVELOP OVER EASTERN PORTIONS OF
MISSISSIPPI AND MOVE INTO LAMAR COUNTY...FLOODING IS LIKELY.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
