AT 500 PM CDT AN AREA OF THUNDERSTORMS WAS LOCATED 40 MILES WEST OF BISMARCK TO 10 MILES SOUTHEAST OF BISMARCK. THE STORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 25 MPH. THE STRONGEST STORMS IN THIS AREA ARE 24 MILES SOUTHWEST OF BISMARCK AND 10 MILES SOUTHEAST OF BISMARCK. THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS REPORTS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN RECEIVED IN LESS THAN 1 HOUR. EARLIER ST. ANTHONY REPORTED 1/2 INCH HAIL AND TORRENTIAL RAIN WHEN ONE OF THE STORMS PASSED OVERHEAD. AT 550 PM CDT A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH 3/4 INCH HAIL...WIND GUSTS TO 60 MPH...AND TORRENTIAL RAIN WAS MOVING INTO THE IMMEDIATE BISMARCK/MANDAN AREA. THE LINE EXTENDED TO ST ANTHONY...15 MILES SOUTH OF BISMARCK/MANDAN. FLOODING OF LOW LYING AND POOR DRAINAGE AREAS WILL OCCUR WITH THESE SEVERE STORMS.
