HEAVY RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER LITCHFIELD COUNTY DURING THE PAST COUPLE OF
HOURS...WHICH IS CAUSING FLOODING ON SEVERAL ROADS. SMALL STREAMS ACROSS
THE COUNTY ARE ALSO SPILLING OVER THEIR BANKS. FLOODING HAS BEEN
REPORTED ON THE EAST ASPETUCK RIVER. THE HEAVY RAIN WILL DIMINISH TO
SCATTERED LIGHT SHOWERS BY 9 AM...BUT FLOODING WILL CONTINUE IN ALONG
SMALL STREAMS FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

EASTERN NEW YORK AND WESTERN NEW ENGLAND TO EXPIRE.  WHILE THE WIND
WILL CONTINUE TO BLOW FROM THE SOUTH 15 TO 30 MPH FOR AWHILE...THIS
IS GENERALLY NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO PRODUCE ANY DAMAGE. THE WIND WILL
SLOWLY RELAX TOWARD DAYBREAK AS IT TURNS MORE TO THE WEST.
