SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND FLASH FLOOD WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 300 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN WEST MASSACHUSETTS
 
   ...BERKSHIRE COUNTY
 
AT 115 PM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER INDICATED SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE CENTRAL BERKSHIRES. LARGE HAIL IS LIKELY WITH
THESE STORMS EAST OF PITTSFIELD. A WEATHER SPOTTER IN COLTSVILLE
REPORTED QUARTER SIZE HAIL. FLASH FLOODING IS ALSO LIKELY...ESPECIALLY
NEAR NEAR MOUNT GREYLOCK. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING VERY SLOWLY
EAST AT 5 MILES AN HOUR AND PRODUCING FLOODING RAINS.
 
OTHER THUNDERSTORMS WERE DEVELOPING ACROSS THE MASSACHUSETTS TURNPIKE
NEAR LEE.
 
MOST DEATHS IN FLASH FLOODING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A
SMALL ONE...ON FOOT.
