FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  415 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN NORTHWEST CONNECTICUT

AT 10AM...AMATUEUR RADIO OPERATORS REPORT STREET FLOODING WAS
OCCURRING IN NEW MILFORD AND TORRINGTON.  THE EAST ASPETUCK RIVER
WAS CLOSE TO BANKFULL IN NEW MILFORD AND WILL OVERFLOW BY NOON.
MANY SMALLER STREAMS IN LITCHFIELD COUNTY WERE NEAR BANKFULL.
 
DOPPLER RADAR AT ALBANY AND TAUNTON INDICATED A LARGE AREA OF
HEAVY RAIN  PASSED THROUGH LITCHFIELD COUNTY BETWEEN
8 AND 10 AM.   RAIN WILL CONTINUE OVER LITCHFIELD COUNTY
THE NEXT TWO TO FOUR HOURS BUT WILL DIMINISH IN INTENSITY.
 
MOST DEATHS IN FLASH FLOODING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVER^S
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A
SMALL ONE...ON FOOT.
