SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS WILL CONTINUE ACROSS
MUCH OF LITCHFIELD COUNTY THROUGH THIS EVENING. RAINFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2
INCHES PER HOUR COUPLED WITH THE 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN WHICH FELL
OVERNIGHT HAS RESULTED IN 3 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN TODAY ACROSS SOUTHERN
LITCHFIELD COUNTY. FLOODING OF SMALL STREAMS IS EXPECTED AS MORE SHOWERS
AND THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE TO MOVE ACROSS THIS AREA FROM SOUTHEAST NEW
YORK.
 
SOME OF THE STREAMS AND RIVERS WHICH WILL BE AFFECTED BY THE HEAVY RAIN
INCLUDE GALPIN BROOK...CLARK BROOK...WEEKEEPEEMEE RIVER...EAST MEADOW
BROOK...SPRAIN BROOK AND HARVEY BROOK. ALSO ANY STREAMS AND RIVERS IN THVICINITY OF CORNWALL....WOODBURY AND NEW MILFORD WILL BE AFFECTED BY THE
HEAVY RAIN.

IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES*.  DO NOT

THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
