THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBUQUERQUE HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  445 AM MDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN CENTRAL NEW MEXICO
 
   ...LINCOLN COUNTY...
 
AT 145 AM...RADAR CONTINUED TO SHOW AN AREA OF MODERATE RAIN
WITH A FEW AREAS OF HEAVY RAIN...MOVING SLOWLY NORTHWARD
ACROSS CENTRAL AND EASTERN LINCOLN COUNTY.  HEAVY RAINS FROM
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING HAVE SATURATED THE GROUND.
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL RUN QUICKLY INTO NEARBY STREAMS AND
ARROYOS CAUSING RAPID RISES AND FLASH FLOODING.
 
PERSONS ALONG THE HONDO RIVER SHOULD BE ALERT FOR RAPID RISES.
 
THE LINCOLN COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTED THAT WATER WAS PONDING ON
ROADS AND CAUSING HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS.
 
BOTH LOCALIZED AND DISTANT HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CREATE DANGEROUS
FLOWS IN ARROYOS AND OVER LOW WATER CROSSINGS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
DRIVE THROUGH THESE WATERS. WATER IN ARROYOS MAY TRAVEL MANY MILES
AND TAKE HOURS TO REACH YOUR LOCATION FROM UPSTREAM RAIN AREAS.
