FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  345 AM MDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN CENTRAL NEW MEXICO
 
   ...EASTERN BERNALILLO COUNTY...SOUTHERN SANTA FE COUNTY
   ...TORRANCE COUNTY
 
HEAVY RAINS FELL DURING THE LATE EVENING HOURS OVER PORTIONS OF
TORRANCE...EASTERN BERNALILLO AND SOUTHERN SANTA FE COUNTIES...TO THE
EAST OF THE SANDIA/MANZANO MOUNTAINS. RADAR ESTIMATES OF RAINFALL
EXCEEDED 2 INCHES IN SOME SPOTS. SOME FLOODING OF LOW WATER CROSSINGS
HAS BEEN REPORTED IN TORRANCE COUNTY...NEAR MORIARTY. AT 1230 AM
MDT...RADAR INDICATED THAT THE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING THE HEAVY RAINS
WERE WEAKENING BUT RUNOFF FROM THE PREVIOUS STORMS COULD CONTINUE FOR
THE NEXT FEW HOURS.
 
REMEMBER...MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW WATER CROSSINGS IF WATER
COVERS THE ROADWAY. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A
SMALL ONE...ON FOOT. TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
DO NOT DRIVE AROUND BARR>ICADES.
