000 TTAA00 KABQ 270628 FFWABQ NMC037-021-270930- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALBUQUERQUE NM 1227 AM MDT SAT JUL 27 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBUQUERQUE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 330 AM MDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN EAST CENTRAL NEW MEXICO ...NORTHERN AND EASTERN QUAY COUNTY IN NORTHEAST NEW MEXICO ...SOUTHEASTERN HARDING COUNTY AT 1227 AM MDT...A CLUSTER OF STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WAS MOVING SOUTH SOUTHEAST AT 10-15 MPH ACROSS SOUTHEAST HARDING AND NORTHEAST QUAY COUNTIES. STORMS WERE ALSO MERGING ACROSS THIS AREA CREATING AN INCREASED POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING RAINS. SOME CITIES IN THE PATH OF THESE STORMS ARE TUCUMCARI...LOGAN...NARA VISA AND SAN JON. THESE ARE DANGEROUS STORMS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTN>ING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN.
