THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBUQUERQUE HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND FLASH FLOOD WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL  645 PM MDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN EAST CENTRAL NEW MEXICO
 
   ...WESTERN DE BACA COUNTY...SOUTHERN GUADALUPE COUNTY
 
AT 440 PM...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF STRONG TO SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS MOVING INTO FAR NORTHWEST DE BACA COUNTY....FROM 20
MILES WEST TO 15 MILES NORTH OF YESO. HAIL UP TO NICKEL SIZE AND
VERY HEAVY RAINFALL ARE LIKELY WITH THESE STORMS. RADAR HAS
ESTIMATED ONE TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN OVER THE PAST HOUR. RUNOFF FROM
THE HEAVY RAIN WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF NORMALLY DRY ARROYOS
AND WASHES THROUGH EARLY EVENING.
 
WHEN THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRING...PEOPLE SHOULD MOVE INSIDE A
STRONG BUILDING.  DO NOT STAND BY WINDOWS.  DON'T USE TELEPHONES
OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES UNLESS IN AN EMERGENCY UNTIL THE STORM
HAS PASSED.  MOTORISTS SHOULD NOT DRIVE INTO LOW WATER CROSSINGS.
