THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PHOENIX AZ HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 630 PM MST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING
LOCATIONS...

IN NORTHWESTERN ARIZONA

  ...EASTERN MOHAVE COUNTY
     INCLUDING INTERSTATE 40 EAST OF KINGMAN...AND NORTHEAST OF
KINGMAN ALONG ROUTE 66. 

STRONG THUNDERSTORMS HAVE PERSISTED OVER PORTIONS OF EASTERN MOHAVE
COUNTY.  AT 415 PM THE STRONGEST STORMS...WITH EMBEDDED HEAVY
RAIN...WERE LOCATED 10 TO 20 MILES EAST OF KINGMAN...AND NEAR
INTERSTATE 40 WHERE IT INTERSECTS U.S. ROUTE 93.

DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATES RAINFALL TOTALS OF BETWEEN 1 AND 2 INCHES
BETWEEN 3 AND 4 PM...SUFFICIENT TO CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF WASHES AND
ROADWAY DIPS.  THIS IS IN ADDITION TO RAINFALLS OF UP TO 2 INCHES
THAT FELL IN THE AREA EARLIER THIS AFTERNOON.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANLS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.

MOTORISTS IN THE WARNING AREA WILL NEED TO USE CAUTION.  DO NOT TRY
TO CROSS FLOODED HIGHWAYS.  REMEMBER...MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR
