THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PHOENIX AZ HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 430 PM MST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING
LOCATIONS...

IN NORTHWESTERN ARIZONA

  ...EASTERN MOHAVE COUNTY
     INCLUDING INTERSTATE 40 JUST EAST OF KINGMAN...AND NORTHEAST OF
KINGMAN ALONG STATE ROUTE 66 TO PEACH SPRINGS.

STRONG THUNDERSTORMS HAVE BEEN PRESENT IN THE WARNING AREA FOR THE
PAST COUPLE OF HOURS.  DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATES OF OVER 2 INCHES
OF RAIN HAVE BEEN REPORTED...AND IN THE COMMUNITY OF VALLEY
VISTA...ABOUT 15 MILES EAST OF KINGMAN...STREET AND HIGHWAY FLOODING
HAS TAKEN PLACE.

THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO PERSIST IN THE WARNING AREA FOR THE
NEXT HOUR OR TWO...RESULTING IN ADDITIONAL FLASH FLOODING.  PERSONS
IN THE WARNING AREA...ESPECIALLY MOTORISTS ON STATE ROUTE 66...AND
SURROUNDING BACK ROADS...WILL NEED TO USE CAUTION.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE THROUGH RISING WATER.  AND
DO NOT TRY TO CROSS FLOODED HIGHWAYS. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR
IN AUTOMOBILES.
