NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SALT LAKE CITY UT
1100 PM MST SUN MAR 5 1995

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR WASHINGTON COUNTY UNTIL 4 AM MONDAY
MORNING...

AS OF 1030 PM HEAVY RAIN CONTINUED TO FALL OVER ST. GEORGE AND MOST
OF WASHINGTON COUNTY.  THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS REPORTS OF HOMES AND
ROADS BEING FLOODED THROUGHOUT WASHINGTON COUNTY. WATER IS RISING
RAPIDLY IN THE VIRGIN AND SANTA CLARA RIVERS AS WELL AS THE SMALL
STREAMS AND NORMALLY DRY WASHES THROUGHOUT THE AREA.  RAINFALL IN THE
AREA WILL CONTINUE UNTIL AT LEAST 1 AM MONDAY MORNING AND THEN BEGIN
TO TAPER OFF.

GUNLOCK RESERVOIR ON THE SANTA CLARA RIVER WILL LIKELY BEGIN TO SPILL
LATER TONIGHT AND THUS THE SANTA CLARA RIVER BELOW THE RESERVOIR MAY
BE RISING MONDAY AFTER THE RAIN STOPS.
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
